AS Media Review
I had never taken Media, in any type of school I have been
to, so this was a new experience for me. I had to learn new software for my
video editing, new theory’s, and technical skill. It was going to be
challenging, and I got a final grade of a D, which I was not pleased with as I
was hoping for a grade between A-B. The part the affected my grade the most was
the final exam, I believe it was my lack of British Culture, which was difficult
to write about as I had only recently moved to the United Kingdom and had not
been exposed to much of the British Culture in television. But from the beginning
of AS to the end I believe I’ve gotten better in the technical point of view of
Media such as camera work, editing, etc. But from a writing point of view, I need
to work on it, such as exams, and theory’s.
With my software, I used Rainbow Vegas as my editing
software, which is one of the best and expensive editing software’s, which was
a lot more easy to use. I had little experience of editing and had not edited a
video for over 3 years. I was very quick to learn how to use the software, as I
had idea of the software, from YouTube video’s I had watched. I also used Photoshop
for editing certain photos, such my magazine and double page spread. I was
fairly new the programme, and it was difficult at first, but over time I got
used to it and believe it is easy to use if you were to take your time on it.
Also for our magazine we used the obvious tools, of Cameras, green screens and
lighting equipment. I was used to using cameras as in modern society people
have used many different types of cameras, but as for green screens, I had
never came across one so it was a new experience for me, and very Interesting
to edit on Photoshop. As for lighting it was very difficult to use the type of
massive lamps we used to make sure we don’t have shadows in the background, and
to as well get good lighting for the model. Overall after having new
experiences for most of the software, and equipment I believe, I have gotten to
an experience user of the programmes and equipment.
An honest review Daniel, Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI agree we really need to work on your theory and written side of things.
Focus on your planning and research and get that up to level 4 for your group music video and create a series of video posts so you discuss your work, this is by far one of your strongest points.
Use media language throughout, make notes and work from them so you do not get tongue tied.
Direction and remembering theorists will really help if you can associate your work with elements of whta you have seen and ho wit has influenced your work.
See me and we will discuss further.
